Our best selling and premier pretzel variety, Original Zesty Lemon Pepper, is something that we have been making ever since our only son Justin was an infant. When we moved to Freehold in 1999, we hosted many parties and always served said pretzels.

After one such party, a neighbor called to say that he had a great time but...(there's always a BUT!) our pretzels gave him the worst hangover ever. Lois responded with "...I didn't know pretzels could do that..."  The neighbor quipped back with "...yeah worse hangover ever because of those dam pretzels..."   

Lois was very perplexed; how can her pretzels be responsible for a hangover?  

She proceeded to apologize regardless and the neighbor proceeded to say "relax...I'm just joking but those are the best pretzels I've ever had and couldn't stop eating them..."  

The hangover story spread like wildfire throughout the neighborhood and soon everyone was in on the joke and soon we were getting outside requests for our hangover pretzels............

Get the picture!?  We must give credit to our neighbors for coining the phrase which lead to the creation of our incredibly catchy name, The Hangover Pretzel Company!
 

When we finally decided to start our business, we HAD to call it “The Hangover Pretzel Company.” In 2009 we landed our first account in Park Slope Brooklyn and the rest is history.
